The Explosive First Step is a six-foot slastix that stretches to eighteen feet, comes in resistances ranging from 47 to 150 pounds, includes a waist belt, an anchor, and promises to give you a workout you won’t forget!
As the name implies, the purpose of our Explosive First Step is to provide the ultimate training tool for sprinters and other athletes for whom rapid acceleration is crucial. To achieve this, we created a short, heavy-resistance Slastix band that provides up to 150 pounds of resistance when fully stretched. Wearing the padded Power-Pull Belt that attaches Slastix to an anchor (such as a wall) or a training partner (who provides resistance while trailing behind), athletes engage in rapid-acceleration drills, similar to that of a base-runner stealing second base, or a football player exploding through the line. The triangle rings and Power-Pull Belt allow athletes to move 180 degrees in either direction, while the 6-foot Slastix allows them to run twelve feet from any anchored position. By practicing with our Explosive First Step, athletes are readier than ever on game day.
